Topics Discussed: Committee members introduced themselves and shared a bit about what’s going on in
their districts. New members were welcomed. Most of the day focused on reviewing Section 5 of the WSSDA
Positions Book, which covers Instructional Program. Several Committee members were appointed to the

Highlights and Actions by the Group: Very lengthy and thoughtful discussion was held on the 12 positions in
this section. One section (5.2.3: Student Educational Plans), was recommended to be deleted, and one was
recommended for a title change (5.2.9 Instructional Strategies to Classroom Instruction. The Committee will
re-visit the recommended language changes to the positions at it’s September meeting, prior to Legislative
Assembly.

Next Scheduled Meeting: Friday, Sept. 23, 2011 from 9:00 – noon in Pasco
