Registration opens soon! Check back for updates.
The 2012 WSSDA Annual Conference takes place November 14-17 (Wednesday through Saturday) at the Spokane Convention Center and DoubleTree Hotel.
As school board members, you face various challenges – budgets, administrative policies, lack of community support. You may try to tackle these issues on your own or you can look for advice and best practices by joining your colleagues at the WSSDA Annual Conference. A great lineup of speakers, workshops and other events will help you identify opportunities and build skills to lead the change necessary for your community.
- Build your leadership and governance skills.
- Discover ways to improve student achievement in your district.
- Reconnect with colleagues from around the state to share and learn from one another.
- Set an example of life-long learning for your students.

Call for proposals
The Call for Session Proposals is open! The deadline is May 11. If you have specific experience or knowledge that may benefit school directors, please consider submitting a proposal. The planning committee is looking for sessions with practical information that can be replicated in other districts, programs with a history of success, innovative information or hot topics. New strands for this year’s conference include “Online and Blended Learning” and “Partnering for Success.” View the presenter pages for details.
Registration and hotel reservations
Online conference registration and hotel reservations open in May. Plan ahead by identifying which days each member of your team will attend to avoid the need for cancellations.
Student involvement
Students are the focus of every board member’s work and are welcome participants at conference. Help us showcase their talents (and your excellent programs) at general sessions by submitting a recommendation for student entertainers to C.Lauderdale@wssda.org. Please include the group name, size, school, district and a CD or video link showing the kids performing. Groups generally have from 10-15 minutes to perform for an audience of school directors and superintendents from around the state.
Exhibitors and sponsors
Showcase your education-related products and services to approximately 1,000 attendees from Washington’s 295 school districts. Consider becoming a sponsor for even more visibility. Sign up for exhibitor or sponsorship participation today!
