NCLB Communications Toolkit

A School Leader's Guide to Communicating about No Child Left Behind

Posted August 25, 2003

At the request of the Washington State Learning First Alliance, a special "toolkit" has been assembled to assist school leaders with communications challenges related to the No Child Left Behind Act (NCLB).

These materials were the direct result of a collaborative effort among  communications professionals from many of the state's leading education organizations (including WSSDA).  The information represents current thinking on messaging about Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP) and other requirements of the act.

The toolkit includes materials designed for use by those who are often called upon to comment on the law and its impacts — school board members, superintendents, principals, district communication officers, and teacher leaders.  We hope you find it of assistance.
