Updates:

The WSSDA Board of Directors has identified Dr. Jonelle Adams as the preferred candidate for the position of WSSDA Executive Director.  See our announcement for details.

Background:

The Board of Directors of the Washington State School Directors' Association is currently engaged in a comprehensive, strategic process to recruit and employ a new executive director for the association. The  timeline calls for a new executive director to be selected no later than the end of May.

One of the board's objectives is to ensure the search and hiring process is transparent and open to input from school directors. This page has been created to keep WSSDA members and the education community up to date on activities related to the search.

The links at right provide updates and background on the search process. Other key points of information:

Search Consultant: After a competitive recruitment process, the board has retained Hagel and Company as its executive search consultant.

Search Committee: WSSDA President Laverty (Mukilteo) has appointed an executive search committee to work with the consultant, chaired by WSSDA Immediate Past President Martha Rice (Yakima). Members of the committee are:

• Anne Golden (Walla Walla School Director, WSSDA Past President, WSSDA Board Member, NSBA Board Member)

• Harry Frost (WSSDA Interim Executive Director)
