WSSDA is pleased to offer its members two new programs:
Members Assisting Peers: WSSDA's Networking and Support Service for School Board Members
WSSDA has renewed its MAP program, which provides the services of experienced school board members who have been trained in the art of listening,
confidentiality, problem solving and resource information. The MAP volunteers serve as a sounding board and a support system to school directors facing tough questions and challenges. They stand ready to assist with issues regarding boardsmanship.
This service is free to WSSDA members.

WSSDA's Community Engagement Service
Through grant support from Washington Mutual, WSSDA is offering school districts a facilitated service to design and implement community engagement plans. This program is ideal for districts striving to increase community understanding of educational reform, promote parent and community involvement in schools, and cultivate community buy-in for improving student learning and closing the achievement gap.
The service, which is available to regions with five districts committed to participation, utilizes a new delivery approach that encourages the pooling of resources among several districts, spreading the cost of the consultant and using local resources and locations to keep travel, facilities and meal costs to a minimum.
