Ted Thomas of the Longview School
Board and Ricardo Espinoza of the Pasco School Board have been
elected officers of the Washington State School Directors’
Association. Thomas and Espinoza were chosen by members of the
association during the WSSDA annual conference in Spokane.

Thomas, a member of the Longview School Board for nine years, was elected to the position of WSSDA President-elect for 2007. He served this past year as the association’s vice president and was chairman of the WSSDA Legislative Committee for three years. He has also served on the WSSDA Urban Issues Committee and various sub-committees and task forces, and is a member of the WSSDA Federal Relations Network. He will be installed as president of WSSDA at next year’s annual conference in Seattle.
Thomas is a member of the School Nutrition Association and the Longview Early Edition Rotary. He also participates in a group that builds small community schools in Vietnam.
Espinoza, a member of the Pasco School Board for 8 years, was elected as WSSDA’s vice president for 2007. He served the past year as a member of the WSSDA Board of Directors for southeast Washington. Espinoza has also been a member of the WSSDA Legislative Committee, Resolutions Committee and Federal Relations Network, and has served on the Educational Service District 123 Regional Meeting Planning Committee.
Cindy McMullen, a member of the Central Valley (Spokane) School Board, was installed as WSSDA President for 2007. The outgoing president, Chimacum School Board member Quent Goodrich, will serve as WSSDA Immediate Past President during the coming year.
