The following school board members have submitted applications for appointment as WSSDA Vice President:

• Aurora Flores (Manson)
• Deborah Heart (Goldendale)
• Martha Rice (Yakima)
• June Sine (East Valley/Spokane)

The position of WSSDA Vice President is vacant due to the resignation of Ricardo Espinoza from the Pasco School Board earlier this year. WSSDA’s bylaws require that the WSSDA Board of Directors fill the vacancy by "electing a successor from the same side of the mountains as the elected vice president to serve the remainder of the term." The board is expected to make a decision at its next regular meeting on March 30-31, 2007.
