The WSSDA Board of Directors will hold a special meeting on Saturday, Feb. 20, at the Radisson Gateway Hotel in SeaTac. The meeting will convene at 10:00 a.m.

The first portion of the meeting will be devoted to an update from WSSDA's executive director search consultants on the results of stakeholder interviews and a membership Web survey. The objective is to reach board consensus on a) WSSDA's accomplishments, strengths, challenges and opportunities and b) key attributes, experience and critical success factors for the new executive director. Board consensus on those items will assist the consultants in developing a position profile and moving forward to advertise the executive director position.

Other items on the agenda include:

• An update and discussion regarding the federal Race to the Top program

• Discussion of potential changes for filling vacancies in State Board of Education positions elected by school directors.

• Discussion of SB 6604 (school district flexibility)

• Discussion of WSSDA's upcoming strategic planning process
