What it does: Annually review and recommend positions on legislative issues. Identify proposals to be referred to the Resolutions Committee. Review proposed state legislation, rules, initiatives, and/or referenda, and make recommendations to the Board of Directors and/or Legislative Assembly. Members also serve as ex-officio members of the Federal Relations Network. Provide support to local board legislative representative regarding the legislative/proposal process and advocacy strategies.
Who is needed: Twenty-four elected director area representatives and WSSDA's vice president.
Time it takes: Members serve two-year terms. Those from even-numbered areas are elected to full terms in even-numbered years. Meetings are typically held in January/February at the Legislative Conference, March, June, July, September at the Legislative Assembly and October.
