sessions of its most requested trainings
New Director Boot Camp
“Boot Camp” is designed to get new directors ready to fully participate as effective leaders on their boards. Topics include:
- roles and responsibilities
- how school boards do their work
- district budgets and fiscal management
- legal requirements
- legislative advocacy
We encourage superintendents and veteran board members to attend with their new directors.
Boot Camp will be offered at ESD 113 in Tumwater on Wednesday, February 28. Details coming soon.
The Challenges of Poverty
This workshop helps you build a deeper appreciation of the impacts of poverty on students in your district. Attendees will experience:
- WSU’s 3-hour Poverty Immersion
- breakout sessions on implementation of social-emotional teaching practices and research-based frameworks that support closing achievement gaps
School board directors and superintendents are invited to attend, both as individuals and as teams.
Please join us for a day of thinking, learning and connecting with other school directors in your area.
Each workshop runs from 10:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.
