November 18-20 are three of the best days of the year to be a school director. WSSDA’s Annual Conference is specifically designed to support your board in the vitally important work you do for the 1.2 million K-12 students in Washington state.
We are focused this year on returning to gathering in person, with the learning, engagement and connection that are most accessible we’re together. We plan to record segments of the conference and may make some of them available virtually at a later date.
Please note: Current state regulations require that we cap registration at 1,000 attendees. We hope to meet collectively as a large group, but WSSDA reserves the right to follow a cohort model where attendees are divided into two separate groups should COVID guidelines mandate this. If this becomes necessary, all members of each school district registered will be placed in the same cohort. Once the event sells out, additional registrants will be added to a waitlist. If restrictions change and allow different configurations and capacities, we will keep registrants informed.
The three pre-conference workshops offer an opportunity to deeply explore issues important to your role as a school leader. These sessions include expert speakers, panelists and active engagement. For more information about each workshop, please see our pre-conference workshop page.
All pre-conference workshops run from 11:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. with lunch provided.
Regular conference fees apply to board directors, superintendents, asst. superintendents, district staff, educational organizations (OSPI, WASA, AWSP, ESD, etc.), and the like. If you have any questions, please contact the WSSDA Registrar.
You have several options to pay for conference registration: credit card (VISA or MasterCard only), procurement card, purchase order, or check. We have taken enhanced health and safety measures related to COVID-19 for our attendees, venue/vendor partners and WSSDA staff. Attendees must follow all posted instructions while attending the 2021 WSSDA Annual Conference and agree to do so by registering. We will be following the guidelines put forth by the Washington State Governor’s Office. As those guidelines and those of the venue change, our approach to health and safety will change with them. Regulations in place at the time may require conference participants to complete a health screening and to wear masks throughout the event. State or venue regulations may be different for people who have been fully-vaccinated against COVID-19 than for those who haven’t. We encourage vaccination prior to the event to protect yourself and fellow attendees.
An inherent risk of exposure to COVID-19 exists in any public space where people are present. COVID-19 is an extremely contagious disease that can lead to severe illness and death. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, senior citizens and attendees with underlying medical conditions are especially vulnerable.
By attending the 2021 WSSDA Annual Conference you voluntarily assume all risks related to exposure to COVID-19 and agree to any posted health-related instructions.
For registration or housing questions regarding health and safety, please contact the WSSDA Registrar.
In order to comply with the law and provide a more comfortable environment for all attendees, an additional term of attendance is outlined below. By registering, you are agreeing to comply with the following:
Pursuant to WAC 292-110-010, WSSDA is a state agency responsible for the proper use of state resources. Unauthorized distribution of materials that support, promote the interests of, or solicit for an outside organization or group by an attendee at any WSSDA-sponsored event or in any conference facility utilized by WSSDA for such events may result in revocation of the credentials that allow that individual to attend the event and/or barring of that individual’s attendance at future WSSDA-sponsored events.
