Annual Conference Registration

Register to attend WSSDA’s hybrid Annual Conference

November 18-20 are three of the best days of the year to be a school director. WSSDA’s Annual Conference is specifically designed to support your board in the vitally important work you do for the 1.2 million K-12 students in Washington state.

The conference offered in a hybrid format to make attendance convenient for you. This means you have the option of attending in-person at the Hyatt Regency Bellevue or virtually from anywhere. Either way you attend, you will also have access to conference content for several months to access a breakout session you missed or rewatch an inspiring keynote speaker.

In-person attendance is limited to 800 to ensure the safety and comfort of our guests. Currently, that limit has been reached and in-person registration is paused until circumstances allow us to offer that option again.

Registration for virtual attendance is open and includes the option to be added to a waitlist for in-personal attendance. We will notify all waitlisted registrants by mid-October if capacity allows attendance in-person.

Health and Safety Considerations and Terms for Attendance

We have taken enhanced health and safety measures related to COVID-19 for our attendees, venue/vendor partners and WSSDA staff. By attending the 2021 WSSDA Annual Conference you voluntarily assume all risks related to exposure to COVID-19 and agree to any posted health-related instructions.

Attendees must follow all posted instructions while attending the 2021 WSSDA Annual Conference and agree to do so by registering. We will be following the guidelines put forth by the Washington State Governor’s Office. As those guidelines and those of the venue change, our approach to health and safety will change with them.

Here are some of the ways we are working to provide a safe conference for you:

  • Meals will likely be provided in a grab-and-go format to allow attendees to enjoy them where they feel most comfortable. Some seating may be provided; attendees are also welcome to take meals to their rooms.
  • Most rooms will be organized theater-style with ample spacing between chairs
  • We are limiting overall conference attendance and ensuring room capacities are kept low to allow space; expect that some breakout sessions may reach capacity and be closed.
  • Extra attention will be paid to keeping all conference facilities clean

Here are some health-related instructions you may need to be prepared to follow if you attend in-personal at the Hyatt Regency Bellevue:

  • It is likely that wearing masks will be required by all attendees throughout the event.
  • Regulations in place at the time may require conference participants to complete a health screening.
  • State or venue regulations may be different for people who have been fully-vaccinated against COVID-19 than for those who haven’t. We encourage vaccination prior to the event to protect yourself and fellow attendees.

An inherent risk of exposure to COVID-19 exists in any public space where people are present. COVID-19 is an extremely contagious disease that can lead to severe illness and death. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, senior citizens and attendees with underlying medical conditions are especially vulnerable.

For registration or housing questions regarding health and safety, please contact the WSSDA Registrar.
