At the request of several WSSDA members, the structure and schedule of these calls are changing to maximize participation, provide a daytime option, and draw participants statewide, regardless of director area.
Starting Thursday, May 28, 2020, we will transition to a new schedule. Calls will occur:
The calls will be open to all school directors, superintendents, and educational partners regardless of your region.
There is no longer a limit of two board members per call. School directors are now welcome to invite their entire board and superintendent team.
WSSDA staff appreciate everyone’s flexibility as we continue to refine our approach to support the critical work of our members and collaborate with educational partners.
At this time of year, WSSDA staff normally look forward to traveling around the state to facilitate connecting, learning and updating among school directors through Spring Regional Meetings. However, with the current epidemic, all regional meetings have been cancelled.
To ensure that you have the support, resources and connections you need during this challenging time, WSSDA will instead host networking calls online. The conversations will focus on helping you share with your neighboring districts and WSSDA staff about how you are navigating challenges and creating solutions. You will also receive the latest updates on tools and resources available to you.
The conversations will also provide an opportunity to ask questions and share your challenges. Superintendents are welcome and encouraged to participate, but the conversations will be aimed at the board domain and how school directors can effectively provide strong leadership in their districts and communities during this crisis, while supporting the operational work of administrators.
WSSDA is here to serve our members so you can serve your communities with visionary leadership and wisdom. We look forward to our conversations with you.
To ensure your ability to fully participate, please be sure to join the call either by computer or with a mobile app. We’ve noticed that people who call in by phone are unable to speak to other participants to share their information.
