Advertising in Direct

WSSDA Direct is a quarterly news magazine aimed primarily at WSSDA members, the largest collection of elected officials in Washington state. WSSDA members are the 1,477 school directors who govern school districts with a combined annual budget of over $15 billion, and employ approximately 120,000 people.

In keeping with WSSDA’s mission, the news, information and insights published in Direct are selected to help empower school directors with tools, knowledge and skills to govern with excellence and advocate for public education.


Total printed circulation is approximately 2500, including school board members, school district staff, other regional and state government employees, and legislators. Each issue is also posted on WSSDA’s website as a PDF. The PDF files receive up to 5000 clicks per issue.


  • $900 for a full page (2 spots)
  • $450 for a half-page (6 spots)
  • $225 for a quarter page (8 spots)

Dates for 2021

Spring Issue:
Ads due 3/17; mailing mid April
Summer Issue:
Ads Due, 5/26; mailing mid June
Fall Issue:
Ads Due, 7/28; mailing late August
Winter Issue:
Ads Due, 12/09; mailing early January

Availability of Ad Space

  • WSSDA reviews all requests to advertise according to Operating Policy 5400.
  • Advertising space will be available on a first-come, first-served basis
  • As space is filled, interested parties will be placed on a wait list and contacted in the event that additional advertising space becomes available, for example, if an issue runs larger than normal
