The application window for Boards of Distinction is now open
It has been a highly unusual year for school districts with many challenges faced and still ahead, but WSSDA is looking forward to hearing how your board has risen to these challenges.
New year, new benchmarks
WSSDA’s Boards of Distinction program is about helping school boards reflect on the past school year, analyze their successes and possible growth areas, and gain useful knowledge to govern more successfully. For this year’s application, we have selected benchmarks that would lend themselves to success during a year like the one boards have just experienced.
Helpful hints
We want the Boards of Distinction application to be a beneficial process for your board-superintendent team. Here are some tips for succeeding with your application:
- Describe board work within the 2020-2021 school year only.
- Make sure your essays reflect the Washington School Board Standards.
- Write your answers in a separate document and transfer them to the form to prevent losing your work.
- Don’t miss the deadline! Apply by September 18, 2021.
