After a successful run-off election, members of the Washington State School Directors’ Association (WSSDA) have elected school board member Sandy Hayes of the Northshore School District as the next vice president of WSSDA.
Hayes will join the newly elected president-elect, Ron Mabry of Kennewick School District, in starting her position in November after WSSDA’s annual conference.
The vice president is a member of the board’s executive committee. At the request of the president, they may represent WSSDA by attending conferences or meetings of other organizations, by speaking on behalf of WSSDA, or by participating in state task forces that address significant education policy. The vice president is also a member of the WSSDA Legislative Committee. In addition, the vice president may serve as a delegate or alternate delegate to meetings at the national level.
